As a parent I too have 2 children with both characteristics much like this - & I constantly pray for the older one to be redeemed somehow…as I struggle because it doesn’t make logical sense when they were both raised with same ideologies & same household.

I think that God himself spoke to Cain about his unrighteousness character & reaffirmed him that if he chose correctly things could go well for him; however, He also reminded that sin was crouching at his door & he must be on guard. It is obvious how God favors righteousness over selfishness or contempt just as most of us do; however, is it possible that we may raise (children)-those who are not of the elect & if so do we follow God’s example to remain fair in spite of the circumstances?

We don’t know what we will get /inherit (as struggles) in this life & I do look forward to the day when all of these mysteries here on earth will be revealed as our redeemer draws closer & this chapter will soon close because as much as I feel joy & celebrate the younger, I feel pain & mourn for the eldest- simultaneously.

Perhaps the quote from Jubilees 35:13 is the most impactful to my understanding.

I always appreciate when you write posts like this, Sarah.

Keep up the great work!
